Youth

S U N D A Y
Youth are valued participants in our intergenerational Sunday worship service and are invited to serve in leadership roles like reading scripture, leading prayers, ushering  and acoltying (lighting candles). Youth who enjoy musical expression in worship are encouraged to contact our Music Director, Evan Miles to explore vocal and instrumental opportunities.

Moreland Presbyterian Church is a member of the SE PDX Youth Collective, a network of neighboring worship communities that work together in service and for justice, exploring faith and building relationships. Three collective communities (middle school, high school, young adult) generally meet monthly, rotating among member churches.  Summer experiences through the Collective include City Camp for middle schoolers and a Service/Learning trip for high school and young adults.  Weekend retreats leading up to these experiences build community among participants.

During the school year, we regularly offer a series of formation classes called EXP for Middle Schoolers.  This class covers information needed leading up to confirmation and church membership. These classes take place during the school year, Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:00 just before youth group.

For more information about our programs for middle school, high school and young adults please contact Sabina Spicer. You can also click here to signup for the youth email list.
